The challenge
Sustainability reports are about balancing the right level of detail with readability. To make sure both sustainability pros and average consumers get what they want, Microsoft needed copy that would inform without overwhelming.
Approach
I dialed into the tone and voice established within the deck, and moved toward active, benefit-driven language throughout. Punchier language works with visuals to break up facts and figures and carry the larger narrative along.
Results
Accessible copy that served both audiences: sustainability wonks who want the proof behind the claims, as well as curious readers who want to feel good about choosing Microsoft as a brand.
