LONGFORM CASE STUDY
Bringing big data down to size for PwC’s alumni magazine
The challenge
PwC’s many accomplished alums land in ventures as varied as their backgrounds. To help tell their success stories and highlight specific areas of alumni expertise, the global accounting and professional services firm’s alumni magazine needed copy as sharp as the people they profile.
Approach
I interviewed alumni with an ear for details that would humanize them and make the material feel less dense. I collaborated with the issue’s editor and client to establish an outline, then wrote to match the publication’s established voice while keeping the pacing as light and accessible as possible, given the subject.
Results
Smart, accessible copy that brings readers into the subject matter without losing them to overly technical language. Reflecting alumni knowledge, I balanced all they knew with what readers needed to know, while underscoring how PwC prepared them for their future roles and challenges.
